Tripura State Forensic Science Laboratory is a well established Laboratory which will be transformed into an innovative technology oriented premier Laboratory with modern authenticated practices in near future. The Laboratory will be striving hard to achieve it’s goal at-par with global standard Laboratories. The vision is to make it reliable, subtle, perfect result oriented on the basis of exact calculation, evaluation and analysis of the material evidence.
The vision of the Laboratory will also be to justify the ways of goodness, truth and justice to men.

Highlights

  • Cyber Forensic Division started functioning from 01. 07. 15 vide Home Department Notification No. F.47(4)-PD/2007 (L-1) dated 1st July, 2015
  • The establishment of Polygraph Division (Lie detection) and creation of different designated posts have been accorded by the govt.
  • The laboratory received 1024 (One thousand twenty four) case-exhibits during the year more than last year record 937 (Nine hundred thirty seven)
  • The different divisions of the laboratory could dispose of 2014 cases including backlog.
  • Scientific staff assisted in 65 (sixty five) scene of crime cases covering West, Khowai and Sepahijala District for proper collection/preservation of physical evidence.
  • Scientific staff of District Mobile FSLs Kailashahar visited 83 (eighty three) scene of crimes covering Unakoti, North and Dhalai District and assisted the I.Os. regarding collection/preservation of physical evidence.
  • Scientific staff of District Mobile FSLs Udaipur visited 45 (forty-five) scene of crimes covering Gomati and South District and assisted the I.Os. regarding collection/preservation of physical evidence.
  • The divisional heads of different division deposed evidence in 148 (One hundred forty eight) cases for effective prosecution.
  • 428 (Four hundred twenty eight) Police Officers of various ranks were trained on scientific investigation.
  • 28 (twenty eight) number of investigation kit boxes were distributed to different police stations.
  • Cyber forensic expert attended the monthly crime meeting in all district head quarters to deliver lecture to IOs about cyber crime investigation.
